Ucerax Tablets
What is it?
An antihistamine preparation, available as film-coated, scored, white, oblong tablets containing 25mg of hydroxyzine hydrochloride. Also, UCERAX SYRUP containing 10mg of hydroxyzine hydrochloride per 5ml.
Medical Uses
Anxiety, skin disorders, itching) due to acute and chronic urticaria (nettle rash), skin disorders.
Dosage
Adults, anxiety, 50 to 100mg 4 times each day; skin conditions, start with 25mg taken at night, then up to 25mg 3 or 4 times each day, if necessary. Children, for skin conditions only, aged 6 months to 6 years, start with 5 to 15mg taken at night, increasing to a maximum of 50mg each day in divided doses; aged over 6 years, 15 to 25mg at first taken at night, increasing to 50 to 100mg daily maximum dose, as divided doses.
Special Care
Impaired kidney function. Judgement and dexterity may be affected.
Avoid Use
Pregnancy, breastfeeding.
Possible Drug and Food Interactions
Depressants of the CNS, alcohol.
Known Side Effects
Anticholinergic effects, drowsiness. At high doses, involuntary muscle movements may occur.
