Ultralanum

What is it?

A moderately potent steroid containing 0.25% fluocortolone pivalate and 0.25% fluocortolone hexanoate as a cream. Also, ULTRALANUM OINTMENT containing 0.25% fluocortolone monohydrate and 0.25% fluocortolone hexanoate.

Medical Uses

Skin conditions responding to steroids.

Dosage

Apply 2 or 3 times each day at first and then reduce to once each day as condition improves.

Special Care

Should not be used on face or on children for more than 5 days. Should be stopped gradually.

Avoid Use

Children, prolonged or extensive use especially pregnant women or continual use as a preventative. Should not be used to treat acne, leg ulcers, scabies, pen-oral dermatitis, tuberculous skin conditions, skin disorders caused by viruses, ringworm, any untreated bacterial or fungal skin infections.

Known Side Effects

Thinning of skin, adrenal gland suppression, hair growth, Cushingoid type symptoms (Cushing's syndrome).
