Vioform-Hydrocortisone
What is it?
A combined preparation containing an antibacterial, antifungal and mildly potent steroid, available as cream and ointment. Contains 3% clioquinol and 1% hydrocortisone. Used for skin conditions where infection is present, infected, inflamed skin folds in ano-genital region.
Dosage
Adults and children aged over 2 years, apply to affected skin 1 to 3 times each day for a maximum period of 1 week.
Special Care
Should not be used on face or on children for more than 5 days. Should be stopped gradually.
Avoid Use
Children, prolonged or extensive use especially pregnant women or continual use as a preventative. Should not be used to treat acne, leg ulcers, scabies, pen-oral dermatitis, tuberculous skin conditions, skin disorders caused by viruses, ringworm, any untreated bacterial or fungal skin infections.
Known Side Effects
Thinning of skin, adrenal gland suppression, hair growth, Cushingoid type symptoms (Cushing's syndrome).
