Volmax
What is it?
A selective Bz-agonist available as white, hexagonal, continuous- release tablets in 2 strengths containing 4 and 8mg of salbutamol sulphate marked with strength.
Medical Uses
Or: bronchospasm occurring with reversible airways obstruction or asthma.
Dosage
Adults, 8mg twice each day. Children, aged 3 to 12 years, 4mg twice each day.
Special Care
Pregnancy, diabetes, overactive thyroid gland.
Avoid Use
Children aged under 3 years.
Possible Drug and Food Interactions
Sympathomimetics, steroids, xanthines, β-blockers, diuretics.
Known Side Effects
Headache, dilatation of peripheral blood vessels, nervousness, paradoxical bronchospasm, fine tremor, low blood potassium levels, rapid heartbeat, hyperactive behaviour in children.
