Xalatan

What is it?

A prostaglandin analogue available as eye drops containing 50µg of latanoprost per ml.

Medical Uses

Open angle glaucoma, high pressure within eye.

Dosage

Adults, 1 drop into affected eye(s) each day in evening.

Special Care

Other forms of glaucoma and eye diseases and disorders, severe asthma.

Avoid Use

Pregnancy, breastfeeding.

Possible Drug and Food Interactions

Other glaucoma treatments and eye drops. Leave at least 5 minutes before using other eye drops.

Known Side Effects

Feeling of foreign object in eye, darkening of eye colour, blur ring of vision, thickening and darkening of eyelashes, other eye effects. In rare cases, worsening of asthma and breathlessness, inflammation of iris, uveitis, macular oedema (fluid retention), darkening of skin around eye.
