Zenapax
What is it?
A preparation of humanised anti-Tac antibody available as a concentrated solution in vials for infusion containing 5mg of daclizumab per ml.
Medical Uses
In hospital for prevention of acute rejection of transplanted kidney, along with other immunosuppressive agents.
Dosage
Adults, 1mg per kg of body weight by intravenous infusion lasting for 15 minutes, treatment to begin in the 24 hours before the transplant operation. Then, repeated 4 times each day every 2 weeks.
Special Care
To be administered under specialist supervision with resuscitation equipment available.
Avoid Use
Children, pregnancy, breastfeeding.
Known Side Effects
Any adverse side effects should be reported to the Committee on the Safety of Medicines (CSM).
