Zimbacol XL

What is it?

A fibrate available as sugar coated, modified-release, white tab lets containing 400mg of bezafibrate.

Medical Uses

High blood lipid levels (Types IIa, IIb, III, IV and V) which do not respond to dietarymeasures.

Dosage

Adults, 1 tablet each day after meal at night or in morning.

Special Care

Impaired kidney function.

Avoid Use

Children, pregnancy, breastfeeding, nephrotic (kidney dis ease), severe kidney disease, liver dis ease.

Possible Drug and Food Interactions

Maois, statins, anticoagulants, ion exchange resins, hypoglycaemics.

Known Side Effects

Rash, toxic effects on mus cles, gastrointestinal upset. In rarecases, impotence, baldness.
