What is it?
A retinoid preparation available as an aqueous gel in 2 strengths containing 0.05% and 0.1% of tazarotene.
Medical Uses
Plaque psoriasis - mild to moderate symptoms.
Dosage
Adults, apply thinly once in the evening for up to 3 months and adjust strength according to response and tolerance.
Special Care
Women of child-bearing age must use contraception.
Avoid Use
Children, pregnancy, breastfeeding, face, scalp, skin folds, eyes, inflamed areas, excess exposure to sunlight or UV radiation.
Possible Drug and Food Interactions
Allow 1 hour before applying emollients or cosmetic preparations.
Known Side Effects
Reddening, burning sensation, itching, irritation, rash, dermatitis, pain, desquamation. If skin effects are severe, stop using.
